Doll in Costume from Chile
Mapuche Indian doll from the southern Andes region of Chile South America dressed in authentic costume. She has a silver medella coin chained headress, a quipan ( square cloth wrapped around her body), ikulla (shawl) and large silver chaway (earrings). She has a sweet smile and made up eyes. Her black hair is braided and tied with ribbons. This was dress from 1890. Doll was from a lending library, is in original box and was first checked out in 1976. She is museum quality.
